Abstract

Burning rate of phenol-formaldehyde composite propellants containing various catalysts and based on NH4ClO4, NaNO3, and KNO3 oxidizers are measured at various temperatures. The data have been used to calculate surface temperature and activation energy of burning process for these propellants. Both the surface temperature and activation energy of the catalysed propellants are found to show no regularity with their burning rates.
