Abstract

—A one-dimensional model was developed for homogeneous-heterogeneous combustion in catalytic monoliths. The model was applied to carbon monoxide oxidation. The conditions for which both homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions occur were investigated. A two-section reactor was modeled also and found to perform better than a constant-cross section reactor at high temperature.
