SHORT COMMUNICATION

A General Procedure for Constructing Reduced Reaction Mechanisms with Given Independent Relations

Pages 89-94 | Received 02 Jun 1987, Accepted 31 Aug 1987, Published online: 26 Apr 2007

Abstract

Simplification of a detailed reaction mechanism is possible if there exist independent, approximate relations which permit calculation of concentrations of some species in terms of other known concentrations. Given these independent relations, a general procedure has been developed for combining a set of elementary chemical reactions into a reduced mechanism.
