Abstract

Responses of SnO2-based semiconductor gas sensors were measured in combustion processes where wood chips, light oil and peat were used as fuels respectively. The concentrations of oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and oxides of nitrogen were monitored simultaneously with reference analyzers. The semiconductor type gas sensor was found to detect CO concentration of combustion gases very well in all the three combustion processes in spite of compositions of combustion gases in each case being different.
