Experimental and Theoretical Studies on Soot Formation in an Ethylene Jet Flame

Pages 375-386 | Published online: 24 Oct 2007

ABSTRACT

Soot formation was studied in any ethylene turbulent diffusion flame. A small probe was built to carried out pyrometric measurements in the flame. Instantaneous and local values of temperature and soot volume fraction were determined from emission-absorption measurements, and that made it possible to follow the fluctuations of temperature and soot volume fraction at the same time. Numerical simulation of the jet flame was performed and comparison with the experimental results is shown
