Abstract
Equations were developed that enabled the boron concentration at any soil moisture content to be calculated from measured boron concentrations and water contents of a saturated water extract, the bulk density and the measured coefficients defining the Langmuir and Freundlich boron adoption isotherms. The concentration‐adsorption‐moisture equations (CAM equations) have been tested against experiment data for three soils and two minespoils over a range of moisture oonditions. Also the CAM equations were used to predict potential boron phytotoxicity problems associated with the amelioration of acidic minespoils with pulverised fuel ash.
