Transitions and Acknowledgments

As we launch a new volume of Critique, we take note of some significant changes to our masthead. Larry McCaffery, Executive Editor Emeritus, served the journal from 1985 to 2011, when he retired. At our request, he agreed to maintain his name on our masthead since we valued him as a consultant on important matters. Recently, we began listing him as emeritus, in acknowledgment of his long and meaningful abundance of contributions to the journal as one of the three Executive Editors for over a quarter century.

Even more noteworthy is the retirement of Executive Editor Don Greiner, whose service to the journal from 1985 to 2021 provided crucial guidance to our current path forward. His wisdom, expertise, and judgment were inestimable for over thirty-five years, transitioning us from our former publishers to our flourishing present publishers. All of our readers doubtless appreciate the invaluable contributions of these two Executive Editors, now permanently listed as Executive Editors Emeritus.

With these retirements, we are pleased to welcome as new Executive Editors two longtime members of our Consulting Editorial Board—Robert A. Morace and Susan Strehle. They join Executive Editor Geoffrey Green, who now continues his service to the journal from 1985 as Senior Executive Editor. Critique is well maintained by the keen vision of these individuals.

We are also delighted to welcome new Consulting Editors to our Consulting Editorial Board, and readers will take note of these valuable additions. The members of our Consulting Editorial Board are instrumental in both maintaining our vision of contemporary fiction and guiding us to the future. Our journal continues forward, with appreciative acknowledgment of the Executive Editors, now Emeritus, our new Executive Editors, and our stalwart Consulting Editorial Board.
