Charles Aiden Downey is currently a National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellow and was formerly the Myer Horowitz Research Scholar at the Centre for Research for Teacher Education and Development at the University of Alberta. He is interested in the work and experiences of inner-city teachers and is currently starting an urban high school that lives out the principles of democratic education.
