‘...And All Things Nice’

Summary

There is evidence that girls perform significantly better than boys on a variety of tasks in the primary school. The notion that primary schools are feminine‐dominated is discussed, and evidence is presented that primary school teachers, men and women, tend to perceive girls in a more favourable light than boys in respect of a number of different constructs.
