International Political Development and Democratic Teacher Education

Abstract

The context for this article is the changing nature of global politics in recent years. The new emphasis on democratic political development has important implications for education. Not only will schools need to change in a more democratic direction but so will teacher education. Fortunately, there are a number of case studies of more participant and democratic teacher education courses and these are discussed in the text.
