Abstract

The effects of copper, mercury, and zinc on the uptake and distribution of cadmium-115m in the albino rat were investigated. Different ratios of the metals and cadmium were administered simultaneously. The animals were dosed intraperitoneally and were sacrificed 24 hours post-injection. The samples analyzed for cadmium-115m content included the liver, kidneys, and whole blood. The metals produced an increase in cadmium uptake in the liver and a decrease in the kidneys but had no significant effect on cadmium concentration in the blood.
