Abstract

A reliable method for determining the threshold of vibratory sonsation is described. In a preliminary study of temporary shifts of the threshold after stimulation with intense sinusoidal vibration the recovery from this shift was found to vary linearly with the logarithm of time. In this respect the shift of the threshold of vibratory sensation resembles that of hearing obtained on exposure to noise.
