Abstract
The evaluation of the usefulness of two indirect fitness tests, PWC170, and a test for predicting the [Vdot] o 2max, >n ths assessment of day-night variations in human physical fitness was the aim of the study. In order to get an objective judgement, the results were compared with the [Vdot] o 2max determined directly in the same subjects by day and at night. It was shown that the physical work capacity evaluated on the basis of [Vdot] o 2max was higher in the day-time while it was not revealed, using the PWC170-test and the nomogram of Astrand and Ryhming.
