Critical Ergonomics Factors in Domestic Kitchen Design

Abstract

A survey by the Institute for Consumer Ergonomics during 1972/73 of 262 homes built to current British standards examined, inter alia, the thermal and acoustic levels to which housewives were exposed while working in the kitchens of those homes. Comparisons are made between the levels recorded and those recommended on ergonomic grounds.
