Time Dependence and Temporal Information Integration for Human Reaction to Motion

Pages 913-923 | Received 20 Jun 1977, Published online: 25 Apr 2007

Abstract

Two questions concerning human reaction to motion as a function of time are considered. Five sets of data are reported which support the conclusions: (1) people do not show greater discomfort solely as a function of time spent in a motion environment, and (2) a person's overall evaluation of the comfort of a trip is largely determined by the perceived comfort of the latter portions of that trip.
