Research note Judging the centres of irregular shapes How much variability is there?

Abstract

Thirty subjects were presented with maps on which zones were marked, and indicated where they thought the positions of the centres of the zones were. For the maps used, on which the zones typically measured some 50 mm in each direction, the standard deviation of these positions was about 2 mm
