Development and use of an air-cooled suit for work in nuclear reactors

Abstract

The use and problems associated with an air-supplied hot-entry suit are described. The suit enables inspection and maintenance staff to enter environments of 60°C for prolonged periods of time. A description of the suit, the operating procedures and safety precautions are given. A garment for entry into 80°C environments and which is suitable for maintenance work involving welding is being developed.
