Engineering anthropometry

Pages 767-784 | Published online: 06 Jul 2010

Abstract

Engineering anthropometry as a measuring science is transforming from static physical measurements into dynamic procedures using photogrammetric and laser techniques, with new mathematical and statistical procedures emerging. The design of garments, equipment, and workstations often requires prediction of missing anthropometric dimensions from measured ones. For this, regression methods are often used. The careful matching of design dimensions to anthropometric measures can be done in a simple stepwise procedure.
