Abstract

Housework is the major part of physical output in a family; the energy consumption of a housewife is 3000 kcal/day. The kitchen is the typical working area in a house, and the degree of comfort relies greatly on the reasonable heights of sink, work surface and cooker. This study used 18 subjects for four tests (heart rate, subjective assessment, photographic technique and method of limits) simulating operations to investigate the reasonable heights of sink, work surface and cooking table.
