Published by permission of the National Museum of Canada. This paper, in an unfinished state, was found among Dr. Sapir's manuscripts at the time of his death, February 4, 1939. It had been completed to a point midway of the legend, apparently in 1927. The second half has been put together from his attached notes, and for any errors in this part, I must assume responsibility. The final paragraph, was of course, not contained in the notes. — L. S.
