Disorientation angle in ferroelastic domain twins

Abstract

Disorientation is the rotation that must be performed by two ferroelastic single domain states in order to meet along a planar compatible (stress-free and dislocation-free) domain wall. We present tables with explicit formulae for the disorientation angle, direction of the rotation axis and orientation of compatible domain walls for all non-equivalent ferroelastic domain pairs with coherent domain walls.
