Abstract
Rare earth higher oxides with fluorite-related structure are nonstoichiometric oxides. The composition domain with different oxygen content lead the hysteresis during temperature change under constant oxygen pressure or oxygen pressure change under constant temperature. The structure analysis of oxygen ordered phases indicate that there is an electric dipole around the oxygen vacancy due to the distortion of surrounding cations and anions. The ordered oxygen vacancies are arranged to make the dipoles to be canceled each other. In this paper we discuss the non-stoichiometry, compositional domain, and the hysteresis.
