Abstract

The freezing process in 9/65/35 PLZT ceramics has been investigated by measurements of the quasistatic field cooled and zero-field cooled dielectric susceptibilities and of the frequency dependent complex dielectric constant. The temperature dependence of the third harmonic dielectric nonlinearity a3 = ε31 4 has been determined in 9/65/35 PLZT ceramics. In zero electric field a deep in the temperature dependence of the static a3 indicates a crossover from paraelectric-like to glass-like behavior. The temperature dependence of the linear and nonlinear static dielectric response can be described with the modified spherical random-bond-random-field model of relaxor ferroelectrics.
