Pressure induced crossover in the electronic states of (TMTTF)2Br

Pages 57-62 | Published online: 15 Mar 2011

We have studied the effect of hydrostatic pressure both on the electrical conduction anisotropy and on the temperature dependence of the resistivity in (TMTTF)2Br. At ambient pressure diffusive electrical conduction characteristic of localized states is found, while at high pressure we observed a sharp SDW phase transition, which signifies a Fermi surface instability. The pressure induced crossover between localized and delocalized electronic states is smooth and it has no effect on the anisotropy.
