Abstract

Electrostrictive strain x, DC-biased dielectric constant b K 33, DC bias field-induced electromechanical planar coupling factor bkp and piezoelectric strain coefficient bd31 of La, Bi, Sr and Nb modified PBZT and Ba-A-side doped PLZT compositions were investigated and discussed in this paper. Some of the compositions with low hysteresis and small temperature coefficients of the DC bias field-induced piezoelectric properties were developed. A ferroelectric phenomenological theory for DC bias field-induced piezoelectric effect (effective piezoelectric effect) was developed and employed to reveal the relationship between the instant and the effective piezoelectric properties of the materials.
