Abstract
Field-induced phase transition from rhombohedral to tetragonal phase (R-T phase transition) was observed on the (001)cub cuts in PMNT64/36 single crystal using polarizing microscope. It was found that the induced T phase with c domains could hold in local regions after removing field. Repeated R-T or T-R phase transition took place while alternating field directions. The coexistence of R and T phases showed the diffuse behavior of induced R-T phase transition and accounted for the fluctuation in piezoelectric properties.
