Dynamics of Polar Nanoregions in Relaxors

Abstract

We propose a general framework for the description and understanding of the polarization dynamics in relaxors. This framework is based on the two time-scale motion of off-center ions within polar nanoregions and the increasing restrictions placed on this motion with decreasing temperature. Four general stages are identified.
