Abstract
Measurements of the temperature dependence of spontaneous polarization and dielectric constant in the vicinity of the phase transition at ∼26 K in SrTi 18 O 3 were performed and the critical exponents were determined. The critical exponents β and γ have classical Landau values. These values confirm that we are dealing with the classical paraelectric to ferroelectric transition of the soft mode type in agreement with recent optical studies. We can also conclude that the Lyddane-Sachs-Teller relationship is obeyed in this system.
