Abstract
The dielectric and thermal behavior of Bi-layered perovskite oxide Sr 2 Bi 4 Ti 5 O 18 with five perovskite-like units (m = 5) was studied. A new anomaly was found at T 1 = 428 K in addition to the previously reported one (T c = 558 K). The anomaly at T c is not clear but rather broad, while more clearly at T 1 . This evidence suggests the existence of an intermediate phase between the paraelectric high-temperature phase and the ferroelectric low-temperature phase.
