Synthesis of Micrometer-Scale ZnO Rods and Its Electromagnetic Performance in Microwave Band

Abstract

The micrometer-scale ZnO rods are synthesized from ZnO nano-powder with microwave heating technique. Its Scanning Electronic Microscope (SEM) image shows that the section of ZnO micrometer-scale rods is in hexagonal shape with smooth surface. The measurements of complex dielectric permittivity and permeability for ZnO micrometer-scale rods synthesized were taken with the Model Agilent N5230A net vector analyzer. The measurements show that these ZnO micrometer-scale rods are also microwave absorption materials.
