Abstract

Crystals of Rb₂CdBr₄ was grown by Bridgman method and differential thermal analysis and dielectric constant measurements were performed to investigate phase transitional properties. It was found that Rb₂CdBr₄ has the first order phase transition around 485K on heating. The similarity of the phase transitions to other crystals of Tl₂ZnI₄ group was discussed.
