Optical Activity in Ferroelastic Crystals

Abstract

Structural phase transitions in nonmagnetic crystals that are accompanied by the appearance of a spontaneous optical activity in the low-temperature phase of full and partial ferroelastics are analyzed. The tensors of the spontaneous optical activity for each orientation states of all ferroelastics phase transitions are determined.
