Abstract

The influences of direct current (DC) conductance and heterogeneous microstructure on the dielectric properties of homogeneous and heterogeneous systems are discussed in detail by impedance spectroscopy simulation. It is revealed that an apparent pseudo polarization, induced by DC conductance, exists in every phase in impedance spectroscopy and that the exact mechanism of Maxwell-Wagner (MW) polarization is the pseudo polarization. At the same time, a convenient method is provided to separate one phase from others and to distinguish intrinsic polarization from MW polarization. The results of this paper lay the foundation of fine representation of dielectric properties by dielectric spectrometer.
