ABSTRACT

The influence of corona discharge on the electret and charge state of nanocomposites based on isotactic polypropylene and zirconia dioxide nanoparticles has been investigated. It is shown that in the process of polarization under the influence of corona discharge charges are accumulated at the interface. These charges create sufficiently large internal local field where polarization of dioxide zirconia nanoparticles occurs. The values of the local electric field promoting the polarization of ZrO2 nanoparticles were calculated. It was found that these values are correlated with the quantity of the surface charge density measured by the induction methods. The activation energy of maximum being responsible for a cross-border charge varies in the range of 0,84–1,1eV. By calculations it was found that the thickness of the interfacial layer increaseswith concentration of dioxide zirconia in polypropylene and receives its maximum value at concentrations of 5%.
