Abstract

The mechanism of the appearance of a potential difference in a thin layer of wood by a stable temperature drop along the thickness of the sample is proposed in the article. The dependence of the potential difference (thermo-emf) on the value of the temperature drop and humidity of the wood is experimentally confirmed. The results of the study make it possible to use wood as a material for thermal energy converters.
