Abstract

In this paper, two side-by-side piezoelectric energy harvesters (PEHs) in water flow are proposed. Vibration response and energy harvesting performance are investigated by numerical and experimental method. The results show that the vibration response and output power of the two PEHs are same to each other and maximum value of output power can be obtained with vortex-induced resonance. Energy harvesting performance can be enhanced because of the coupling effect at small spacing distance. Hence, on the premise of collision avoidance, more PEHs can be arranged in a certain space, which can improve the overall performance of energy harvesting system.
