Abstract

The photorefractive glass-ceramics of Na2O-ZnO-Al2O3-SiO2 system were prepared by high temperature melting method. The effects of different components on the photorefractive properties of glass samples were studied by absorption spectroscopy and XRD. The results show that lanthanum ions, bromide ions, silver ions, and fluoride ions are crucial to the photorefractive properties of photorefractive glass-ceramics, and the absence of any of these elements does not result in photorefractive phenomena.
