Abstract

To guide the design of 1–3 piezocomposite transducer with matching layer, a theoretical model was established using electromechanical equivalence principle and acoustics theory. The transmitting voltage response equation of the transducer was obtained. Then, the dependences of the transmitting voltage response and bandwidth on matching layer parameters were analyzed. The transducer samples were prepared and tested. Test result reveals that the experiment result is consistent with the theoretical model, and it is indicated that the theoretical model can effectively predict transducer performance.
