Abstract

In this paper, the polarization curve and corrosion amount of aluminum alloy 1050 in 30 mass% nitric acid solution were measured as the corrosion potential under natural corrosion. it was found that the surface corrosion of aluminum alloy was uniformed and the corrosion rate calculated according to the weight loss-time curve was 0.25 mA·cm−2 by observing the corrosion morphology. The polarization resistance curve was obtained by differentiating the polarization curve. The corrosion rate calculated by analyzing the characteristics of the polarization resistance curve was 0.29 mA·cm−2, which was close to the actual corrosion rate obtained by chemical erosion.
