Piezogravitational spectroscopy

A new physical effect in ferroelectrics and piezoelectrics is considered. If the crystal is placed in an alternating gravitational field with a wave length more than the crystal size, a new force between all pairs of molecules will be generated that will periodically distort the crystal. The motion of all pairs will be uniform because the mass of the molecules has only one sign. By comparison, this cannot be done with electrical charges in the crystal because macroscopically the crystal is neutral. So the piezogravitational effect is potentially a more powerful conversion effect than the piezoelectrical effect. The effect itself is not intensive because the gravitational force is very small. For this reason our mechanism of gravitational-electrical power conversion is much more effective than by means of the gravitational-sound-electric conversion of the Weber type. Many laboratories in the world are searching for low frequency gravitational waves of cosmical origin by means of massive quadrupole detectors. Some of the groups have reported the detection of such signals, but the general opinion is that they are too intensive to be signals of cosmical gravitational waves. It is shown theoretically that besides the macroscopic form dependent mass quadrupole moment all detectors contain a quantum system of microscopical mass quadrupoles formed by pairs of molecules and ions in crystals and glasses. If the sample is piezoelectric, gravitational wave energy is transformed into electromagnetic radiation.
