Abstract

The sandwich PZT composite ceramic was prepared by relatively simple ceramic fabrication process. The dielectric, elastic and piezoelectric properties with various porosity and solid covering thickness were measured. It may exhibit large gh-hydrostatic coefficient of above 120×10−3 Vm/N and permittivity more than 200.

Utilizing this material hydrophone hydrostatic sensitivity is higher and the frequency band is wider than the normal PZT alone and the operating pressure can reach to 100Kg/cm2. The properties of Nondestructive testing (NDT) transducer made of this material also have potentialities.
