Abstract
Several physical properties of rapidly quenched samples of PbTiO3 (not containing glass formers) have been investigated. Measurements of DTA curve, dielectric constant2), Raman scattering and microscopic observations have been made. As already been reported,1–3) amorphous smaples crystallize on heating (crystallization temperature Tcrys ≃ 550°C) and by suitable annealing above Tcrys samples gradually recover crystalline physical properties. These changes of the physical properties in the crystallization process have been investigated in more detail and these are discussed in reference both to the grain size3) and to the effects of stress exerted by co-existing fine-grains in the crystallized sample.
