Physics of piezoceramics

Abstract

When speaking about piezoceramics at present we speak usually about the PZT-type piezoceramics, i.e. about solid solutions based on the lead zirconate-titanate with the component concentration corresponding to the morphotropic phase boundary. Therefore modern physics of piezoceramics is the physics of ferroelectric ceramics being in the state of the tetragonal-rhombohedra1 phase transformation. Although this transformation is caused not by the temperature but by the concentration change, that does not make the consideration more simple.
