Abstract

Ferroelectric solid solutions have drawn considerable attention from the theoretical and industrial viewpoints. Recently, Yoshimitsu and Matsubara [1] published a phenomenological theory of the successive phase transitions in ferroelectric solid solutions, A1-xAx'BO3 or AB1-xBx'O3, with perovskite structure. They assumed that the thermodynamic potential can be expressed as

where coefficients X, ξ11, ξ12 and ζ are functions of x.
