Abstract

PZT powder of the composition Pb(Zr0.65Ti0.35) O3 has been prepared by mixing PbO in the adequate mixture of Ti and Zr tetrabutoxides by blending. Thermal decomposition of the amorphous material was investigated by DTA-TGA analysis. The calcined powder was isostatic-pressed and sintered at 1200°C-8h in an air environment. In this way a ceramic material>99. 5% theoretical density, was obtained. The microstructu re, grain size and electrical properties of the ceramic material were also studied.
