Magnetogyration and other phenomena described by second-rank axial tensors

Abstract

The principle of kinetic coefficient symmetry (Onsager's principle) is generalized. In the relations described by second-rank axial tensors the symmetric part of the tensor is shown to change sign with time reversal. The symmetry of magneto- and electrogyration, magnetoelectric effect, circular photovoltaic effect etc. are discussed.
