Order-disorder model of PO4 dipoles in kdp based on recent Raman spectroscopic studies

Abstract

Raman spectra of KDP type ferroelectrics have been analysed from a new standpoint. The local and momentary site symmetry of PO4 tetrahedra have been concluded to be C2 even above the transition temperature. The order-disorder model of PO4 dipoles is presented and the relation to the conventional proton order-disorder model is discussed.
