Abstract
A number of diverse and unusual properties of uniaxial ferroelectrics with the weak polar soft mode are explained and a few new properties are predicted on the foundation of a unified approach. It is proposed to separate out ferroelectrics with the weak polar soft mode into a “class of weak ferroelectrics”.
