Abstract
BT and PMN-PT multilayer electroceramics were numerically simulated to determine electromechanical strains at the juncture of layers and electrodes. Estimates of stresses within interleaved and staggered multilayer systems were determined. Electric potential contours in the vicinity of printed electrodes were plotted near critical sections of layered structures. Tabulations of typical enhancements of the strains and stresses have been found for the steady-state operating range of actuators and capacitors. These results are useful for maintaining reliable steady-state operation, and mecnanical and electrical integrity of the MLC design.
