Abstract
Optical second harmonic generation in copolymers P(VDF-TrFE) 65/35 is presented. The frequency-doubling coefficient d 13 at 1.06 μm has been measured to be equal to 0.6 pm/V. Variations upon the temperature show that the activity vanishes for temperature above the Curie temperature. Hysteresis curves of the polarization and the optical second harmonic signal upon the applied field have been drawn simultaneously. The second harmonic intensity has been shown to be proportional to the square of the polarization.
